Out of home respite care makes it possible for you to take a break overnight, for a day, or even for a few days. Several long-term care homes and assisted living buildings throughout the Mississauga Halton LHIN provide ‘short stay beds’ to relieve caregiver workload and stress and to help prevent caregiver burnout. Short Stay staff will temporarily take over your daily care giving responsibilities by taking care of your loved one on a short term basis. During his/her stay, your loved one will have access to all the services and facilities that other residents in the building enjoy.
